Tendulkar, Hooper to be felicitated during first Test

Mumbai, October 07: Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies skipper Carl Hooper would be felicitated for playing in hundred Tests by the Indian Cricket Board on the opening day of first Test match between the two countries at Wankhede Stadium here on October nine.

The BCCI executive secretary Sharad Diwadkar told on Monday that Tendulkar, who will be making his 101st Test appearance and Hooper, who will be playing his 100th Test would be handed over a silver plaque and a recital paper.

"In a short and simple 30-minute ceremony to be held on the ground before the commencement of the Test match, the two star players would be felicitated just after the toss," Diwadkar added.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Cricket Association, who are hosting the match, have also named a section of the stand as "Sachin Tendulkar Stand" as a mark of honour for one of the best batsmen in the world.
