October 20: Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly, who injured
his back after colliding with Anil Kumble during the fourth day's
play in the second Test against West Indies here today, "is
alright as of now" but may have to undergo an MRI scan, Cricket
Board secretary S K Nair said.
"Ganguly
is having acute back pain. He was given the best medical attention
in the stadium. As of now, everything is alright," Nair told
reporters.
"So far
Ganguly has not been advised to undergo an MRI scan, but if need
be he may have to undergo one," he said.
Ganguly collided
with Kumble when both went for a catch offered by Pedro Collins
in the deep mid-wicket region and had to be taken out on a stretcher.
While addressing
the post-match press conference after taking two injections, Ganguly
had said he would later undergo an MRI scan.
