Brisbane,
June 9: Australia warmed up for
a three-match one-day cricket series against Pakistan with a 72-run
win over state team Queensland in a limited-overs match on Sunday.
Australia
scored 226 for seven off their 40 overs with opener Matthew Hayden
top-scoring with 78 and Jimmy Maher contributing 60.
Ricky
Ponting's team then restricted Queensland to 154 for eight in reply.
Leg-spinner Shane Warne finished with 2-19 from his eight overs
while pace pair Glenn McGrath (2-25) and Brett Lee (2-27) were also
impressive.
Australia
open the three-match series against Pakistan at Colonial Stadium
in Melbourne on Wednesday.
The
second
match will be played at the same venue on Saturday with the third
game at the Gabba in Brisbane on June 19.
