Akram jolts Australia, 46 for three
Melbourne,
June 15:
Wasim Akram took three wickets for 13 runs to send back
Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting and Jimmy Maher. After 14 overs,
Australia were on the backfoot on 46 for three with Damien Martyn (18)
and Darren Lehmann (13) at the crease.
Australia won the toss and will bat
first in the second one-day cricket international against Pakistan
here Saturday at Colonial Stadium.
Both sides made two changes apiece,
with Brett Lee and Jimmy Maher taking the places of Jason Gillespie
and Matthew Hayden in the Australian lineup.
Lee's return sets up a pace duel with
the world's fastest bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, who comes back for Mohammad
Sami.
Opener Saeed Anwar also came into the
Pakistan side for Shoaib Malik, who will be 12th man. Gillespie will
carry the drinks for Australia.
Australia won the first of the
three-match ODI series by seven wickets here on Wednesday.
