West Indies on course for big score in Kenya

Nairobi, Aug 5: Ramnaresh Sarwan hit a century as the West Indies took control of their three day match against Kenya here Sunday.

The tourists reached 321-3 at stumps having bowled out Kenya for 233 earlier in the day.

The West Indies made a shaky start to their reply. Opener Darren Ganga went for a duck on the last ball of the first over, but Leon Garrick and Wavell Hinds quickly rebuilt the innings by scoring half centuries.

Hinds made 83 off 150 balls before Thomas Odoyo trapped him lbw. That paved the way for Sarwan to make his mark on the match.

His third wicket stand of 114 with Shivnarine Chanderpaul helped push the score from 207 to 321.

Chanderpaul struggled against a tight Kenya attack to reach 44 and will resume his play on the third and final day on Monday.
