'England
getting better with every match,' says Hussain
Mohali,
December 2: England
captain Nasser Hussain on Sunday had a word of caution for the Indian
team, saying his side was improving with every match on this tour despite
the relative inexperience of its members.
"We
are playing without our best side. But we are getting better and better
with every game. We had a wonderful match against India 'A' in
Jaipur," Hussain told reporters after his team had a mild workout at
the ground this evening ahead of the first Test beginning on Monday.
"There
is some inexperience in our side with a few of them set to make their
debuts. We have to make sure they don’t mess up," he said but added
that his team could not afford to offer excuses.
Hussain
said the key to playing on the wickets in the sub-continent was to
maintain a very tight discipline. "You just can't bowl on both sides
of the wicket. You have to stick to a very organised plan."
Despite
once again calling it as "the toughest tour, especially ever since
Australia happened", Hussain did not appear bogged down by India's
tremendous reputation at home. "I never worry about the
opposition," he said.
"I
do not feel any different while leading an England side in India than I
feel in any other place. But certainly there are some special feelings
attached," the Chennai-born Hussain said.
He
was very happy with the "balance in my side" despite the
inexperience.
