Fleming
stakes claim for Ashes place
London,
July 16: Fast bowler Damien Fleming may have bowled himself into
the Australian Test team this week after helping the tourists to a
176-run victory over Somerset at Taunton.
Fleming
took two for 38 from 19 overs for match figures of eight for 97,
helping to bowl out the host county for 240 in their second innings.
With
Brett Lee nursing a rib injury, Fleming may get the nod from
selectors for the second Ashes Test against England at Lord's,
starting on Thursday.
Half-centuries
from Mike Burns and Matthew Wood held up the Australians as the
hosts chased a huge victory target of 417.
But
from 228 for six, the last four wickets fell for just 12 runs, three
of them to the left arm-spin of Aussie Simon Katich.
He
finished with a career-best three for 21 from four overs, while
team-mate Colin Miller returned three for 89.
