Son of George Brad and Emily Whatman, married 1893

Siblings: Victor, Islet, Lilian, Elizabeth May, Family moved from Yeo Yeo, near Hay, NSW, to Bowral, NSW, in 1911.

Early Life: Attended Bowral Public School, Bowral Intermediate High School. Left school in 1922 aged 14. Started work as clerk in Bowral Real Estate Agency.

Married: Jessica (Jessie) Menzies (died 1997) April 30, 1932.

Children: Daughter Shirley; Son John. Moved to Adelaide in 1934, joined stockbroking firm of Harry Hodgetts. Later, opened stockbroking firm Don Bradman and Co, which closed in 1954.

Service career: RAAF, 1939-40, AIF 1940

Honours: Wisden Cricketer of the Year 1931; Knighted 1949; 1979 Companion General Division of Order of Australia (AC); 1985 Inducted Australian Sports Hall of Fame; 2000 Selected as one of five Wisden cricketers of the century.
