Recently dropped from the Indian Team due to the CBI raids Nikhil has been a good find for India. Nikhil can be termed as the "thinking bowler" of India. Everything about his game from the manner in which he bowls to his penchant for all out attack,  whenever he has been sent as a pitch hitter ‘has an attacking ring about it’. He has an aggressive outlook, which is his major asset. Nikhil is a good spin bowler specially for the ODI’s as he maintains good control over line and length, gives the bowl plenty of air, turns the ball a fair deal and has a   fast delivery.
